Ok, there have been a lot of bad injuries to players in the NFL recently, but is it just me, or is it getting worse, not better.
I have seen more injuries recently than ever in the past, and this is after the implementation of new rules that are intended to keep players safe.
So what is going on?!
Is it that the players in an attempt to keep within the rules, are making bad decisions?
- Are they so confused by the new rules that they err and make bad hits?
- Are they mad about the new rules, so they err on purpose?
- Is there no way to keep players completely safe and these are just accidents?
I don’t know, but so far this year, the bad hits look even worse. Someone is being carted off the field in a gurney every Sunday. I don’t remember it being this bad in 2012.
I play fantasy football and I keep losing my highly drafted starters due to injury. My lineups are filled with backup players.
Not sure what the solution is, but at this rate, the NFL will be made up of nothing but 3rd and 4th stringers by the end of the year. An over exaggeration, yeah maybe, but I am not convinced that these new rules are helping to create a new safer NFL, or just and injury plagued season with really bad calls by the refs. And that’s another discussion all together. Anyone care to tackle this problem?
